Separate lungs from legs

A set may end because breathing, bracing, or balance becomes limiting. Choose stable exercises and sufficient rest so local muscular work remains the reason for the set.

Machines can be valuable here because they reduce setup cost while density rises.

Keep the descent conservative

Shorten rest only when depth, control, and repetition count stay consistent across the full session.

A longer interval is not failure. It is the correct rung when the exercise demands it.
